AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a body was discovered in a burning car by police this morning (Wednesday).
Warwickshire Police have launched an investigation after the grim discovery in a field, in Aston Cantlow, north of Stratford, at around 7.30am.
They were called to the field, off Bearley Road, by firefighters who had attended to put a car fire out but the vehicle, believed to be a Peugeot 306, had a body in it.
Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.
A spokesperson said investigations into how the car came to be on fire in the field are at an early stage, but said they would like to hear from anyone who had any information about the car and how it came to be where it is.
The car had been completely destroyed by fire, but police said it was either red or dark burgundy in colour.
