OCTAVIAN DROOBERS clinched the West Midlands Orienteering League following some consistent performances.
Droobers were crowned champions after amassing 7,088 points from the ten events which put them clear of runners-up Harlequins Orienteering Club 6,657 and third placed Walton Chasers 5,982.
The top 15 club members contributed to the championship success and were led by Stephen Elkington (M14) who scored a maximum 500 points, 100 from each of five events.
Barry Elkington (M55) and Anne Straube (W35) both scored 499 points with Bob Brandon (M60) and Lesley Ross (W45) bagging 498.
Sheila Carey (W65) scored 495, while Pete Carey (M65) and Alan Segar (M35) both recorded 483. They were followed by Jane Richardson (W60) 478, Hilary Simpson (W70) 474, Alfie Bullus (M12) 460, John Wright (M70) 446, Sue Bicknell (W65) 444 and Alan Halliday (M55) 411.
