PEOPLE are being urged to show their support and cheer the Olympic torch relay through the district as the route was officially revealed.
Bosses announced the 2012 Olympic torch relay will passing through Stratford, Newbold, Alderminster, Earlswood and Alcester on Sunday 1 July.
The full route was published for the first time today (Monday) to encourage people to get involved and embrace the Olympic spirit by cheering on the nominated torchbearers. The torch will arrive in Stratford just before 3pm.
The torchbearers have gone through a public nomination process run by a committee for the London games which has tried to slot them within an hour of their nomination address so family and friends can cheer them on.
Each torchbearer will wear a special white and gold uniform designed by adidas.
Council leader, Chris Saint, said: "It is fantastic the Olympic torch is coming to the district.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the spectacle of the relay. This announcement really brings the route to life and I hope local communities are excited by the opportunity to get in involved in the build up to London 2012 and show we are embracing the Olympic spirit."
An average of 115 Torchbearers a day will carry the Olympic Flame during its 8,000 mile journey around the UK before it arrives at the Olympic Stadium, in Stratford, London, on July 27 for the lighting of the cauldron at the opening ceremony, signifying the official start of the Games.
