BOOKISH pupils and teachers across the district got into the spirit of things for World Book Day with literary themed costumes.
Staff at Stratford Grammar School for Girls dressed up as characters from the novels of Charles Dickens to mark the 200th anniversary of his birth, and the girls dressed up as everything from Mr Men to Kindle electronic book readers to mark the day on Thursday (March 1).
While at Stratford School the theme was Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
English and Technology departments at the school taught lessons with an Alice in Wonderland theme and the English teachers got into the spirit of the day by dressing as their favourite characters.
And staff and pupils at Alveston Primary School also got well and truly into the spirit as they dressed up as their favourite characters.
