FINE ARTS Brass present a Trans-Atlantic evening of music at Leamington’s Royal Spa Centre Studio on Thursday November 15.

A Blast with Fine Arts Brass will feature a programme of British music in the first half, moving across the Atlantic for the second half.

The British music ranges from an arrangement of Renaissance Dances by Anthony Holborne to the Little Suite for Brass by Malcolm Arnold. In between are two of the great works written for brass band championships - John Ireland's Comedy Overture and Gustav Holst's A Moorside Suite.

The audience will be taken across the Atlantic for the second half for two works by Leonard Bernstein, including his musical Candide, followed by Street Song by Michael Tilson Thomas, and the evening finishes with a trip up Tin Pan Alley for arrangements of songs by legendary names like Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael.

The Fine Arts Brass line-up features Simon Lenton and Angela Whelan on trumpets, Chris Parkes on French horn, Katy Jones on trombone and Les Neish on tuba.

Tickets, priced £12.50 (£1 children and students), are available online at www.royalspacentreandtownhall.co.uk

or in person from Leamington Town Hall box office and Visitors Information Centre in Leamington or Bridge House Theatre Box Office in Warwick.

* THE MAGGINI String Quartet play Leamington's Pump Rooms on Friday November 9.

The group have toured Dubai, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Norway this year, and will return to their native Norway next year before embarking upon a major tour of Germany.

Tickets are available by calling 01926 776438 or from the Tourist Information Centre in the Pump Rooms. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
