GOLDEN boy James Roe was given a heroes welcome as he returned home to Stratford this afternoon (Thursday.)
More than a thousand well-wishers lined the streets of the town centre to see the gold medallist as he was paraded in an open-top bus.
James told The Observer: "It's overwhelming that so many people have turned out. The parade in London was amazing but to come home to this, it's just incredible, so much more personal and I can't believe it."
