A MAN has died following a crash in Stratford on Avon on Sunday night (November 18).
Two cars collided on the A439 Warwick Road near to the Menzies Welcome Hotel shortly after 9.30pm.
A 32-year-old man was driving along the 50mph road when his car spun out of control and smashed into a Ford Ka travelling in the opposite direction.
The male driver was declared dead at the scene and the female driver of the Ford was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found two vehicles that had been in collision.
“The driver of the first car, a woman in her 20’s, was out of the vehicle on the crews arrival. She was fully immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.
“The driver of the second car, a 32-year-old man, was immediately assessed by crews but unfortunately it quickly become apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information should call PC Wayne Knight on 01926 415415.
