EX CATHEDRA return to Leamington once again for a Christmas Concerts by Candlelight concert on December 6.
The Midlands-based choir, which has been giving concerts annually in Warwick and Leamington for 20 years, will perform at Holy Trinity Church.
The programme will range from music of the 12th, 16th, and 17th , sixteenth centuries to two works written this year. There will also be familiar carols, together with less familiar ones from as afar afield as the Czech Republic and Africa, and also a series of readings.
Richard Phillips, of concert promoters Leamington Music , said: “This mix of music and readings in the special atmosphere that candlelight creates is very special.
A fascinating collection of readings have been chosen, which naturally includes the Bible but also has contributions from Jeanette Winterson, Kathleen Raine and Dickens.”
Leamington Music is also putting on another Christmas concert on December 11 at St Mary’s Church in Warwick.
Edward Higginbottom, who was brought up and educated in Leamington, will be bringing his world famous Choir from New College Oxford to the area for the first time.
