HELLS Angels have confirmed the Bulldog Bash will go ahead this year.
It follows rumours the annual biker event at Long Marston Airfield might not happen this summer.
The Bash, which is usually held in August, hit the headlines back in 2007 following the death of Hells Angel Gerry Tobin.
Police massively stepped up their operation in the years after Mr Tobin's murder - on the M40 while on the way home from the festival - and the subsequent conviction of seven members of the rival Outlaws biker gang.
They also unsuccessfully attempted to have the licence held by the organisers revoked by Stratford District Council.
But despite police concerns, the Hells Angels run event, which also raises thousands of pounds for local charities, has passed largely without incident since then.
Rumours had been circulating the event, which attracts bikers from across Europe, could be cancelled this year after it was revealed the group's website had been suspended.
But Echo, spokesman for the Bulldog Bash, told the Observer this week: “Unfortunately at the moment our website is down due to technical difficulties but I can confirm as it stands there will be an event at the show as usual this year.
“The exact format and details are yet to be finalised but there will be a meeting in two weeks where we will be thrashing out the plans. Hopefully we will know more by then.”
Stratford District Council confirmed this week the event has been granted a ten-year licence, which will run out in 2018 and providing the group pays a yearly amount, the licence will remain in place.
The Bash has been held at Long Marston since 1987.
