Three car pile up near Wellesbourne leaves woman seriously injured

A THREE-car pile up at a notorious accident blackspot near Wellesbourne left a driver seriously injured this morning (Monday).

The crash occurred on the A429 around 9.10am and two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene.

Paramedic Officer, Benjamin Lyons, said: “Crews arrived to find three cars that had been in a serious collision. One car had rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

“The woman who was driving the car that overturned, believed to be in her 40’s, suffered a serious hand and arm injury.

“She received emergency treatment at the scene and her condition was stabilised before she was airlifted to University Hospital for further emergency treatment.

A man in his 60’s and a man in his 40’s travelling in the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries and were checked over at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
