Hi: ° Lo:° 7 day

THE SAVE Shottery campaign is inviting people to take part in a ‘virtual interview’ with Stratford MP Nadhim Zahawi.
Debbie and Mark Griffiths, the husband and wife team behind the social media campaign opposed to the building of 800 homes and a link road on the green fields behind Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, are meeting face to face with Mr Zahawi on Friday February 1.
Mark said: “Nadhim took the lead by objecting passionately in Parliament back in November.
"But what more could he do now? We have the chance to ask him, so we wanted to share that opportunity with everyone who opposes the Shottery development."
"People can email us or post their question or comment for Nadhim on the Save Shottery website, twitter or Facebook pages. We’ll collate them all and present the top ten to him next week.”
Other organisations fighting the hugely controversial development include the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and Stratford District Council. The council is currently appealing against Secretary of State Eric Pickles' decision, while the trust, which owns part of the land, is still considering the full impact the development could have on Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.
Save Shottery believes more would be achieved if all opponents worked together, and plan to call on Mr Zahawi to spearhead a united front in opposition to the development.
Those with a question or suggestion for Mr Zahawi can send an email to saveshottery@btconnect.com, or via the Save Shottery Facebook page, or @saveshottery on Twitter – using the hashtag#virtualMPQ, or by contacting the campaigners via SaveShottery.com
