  • Snow footprints foil suspected burglars

    Steve Hayes

    04 February 2010

POLICE caught suspected burglars by following their footprints in the snow.
They were called to an address in The Avenue, in Bishopton, at around 2.40am on Monday (Feburary 1) by the homeowner who said they could hear noise in their home.
The person stayed on the phone until officers arrived and helped secure their property.
But officers searching the area found some footprints in the snow and followed them from the back of the house in the direction of St Peters Road and Meadow Sweet Road.
Shortly afterwards they arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of burglary. A 23-year-old man who was pushing a bike was also arrested on suspicion of burglary after he was stopped by officers.
Both men are currently in police custody awaiting questioning.
