Orchestra of the Swan tune up for Stratford Hospital fund-raiser

Stratford Editorial 11th Sep, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

ORCHESTRA of the Swan will be giving another very special performance in support of the £1million fund-raising appeal for the new Stratford Hospital.

The orchestra will be again be tuning up in aid of the hospital, performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, together with works by Mozart and Haydn at Stratford ArtsHouse on Friday (September 18).

Money raised will help provide specialist equipment for patients to receive treatment at the new hospital, which will house a cancer unit and a state-of-the-art eye treatment centre, increasing access to these services for patients in South Warwickshire.

Artistic director David Curtis said: “Last year’s concert raised over £9,000 and was great fun and very successful, so we were eager to do it again.

“We hope we will match or exceed the amount raised last year for this important facility, which will benefit our local community. All our players are committed to enhancing the quality of life in our town.”

Jenny Farrell, of the Stratford Hospital Appeals Committee, was delighted with the support so far for the appeal.

She said: “It is thanks to this support that we have been able to organise such a fantastic event. I would like to say a special thank you to Orchestra of the Swan and Stratford ArtsHouse. I am really looking forward to the evening and organising more fundraising events for the appeal in the future.”
