CLASSICAL to heavy rock can be heard at this year’s Shipston Proms.

The 7th Shipston Proms gets underway on Friday June 19 and runs for two weeks – and the line-up is as diverse as ever.

A big Launch Party Night kick things off with local bands The Copycats, The Average Wyatt Band, and Kinky Farnham performing at the Townsend Hall.

And aspiring musicians get an opportunity to play on the last night if they enter the Fame Contest on June 20 – the same day as the Picnic On The Pitch at the Sports Club.

Classical sounds are supplied by The Orchestra Of The Swan with international cellist Raphael Wallfisch, jazz from the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra, and folk fans will welcome Stratford Folk Club coming to town.

The music festival will conclude with the traditional free concert in the square on ? – featuring among others, Duke – a beatbox band who play at festivals up and down the country.
