Sneaker & Trainer Lifestyle & Comfort Trends for 2022

There are numerous sneaker and trainer trends in 2022 for lifestyle, comfort, and foot health. More and more designers and brands are realising that their customers need more from their shoes than just looking good.

From Asics trainers to classic Air Jordan’s, these are some of the trends in the shoe world that you need to know about this year.

The High-Fashion Sneaker

With comfort comes style, and brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and the like have stepped into the sneaker world and are leaving their mark on it. High-fashion sneakers are the bridge between streetwear and the catwalk, and they are taking the world by storm.

While these shoes may be more expensive than regular sneakers, they show that change is happening and that street style and fashion are being taken far more seriously.

The Classics

Sneakers are called classics for a reason, and it’s because they never go out of style. Shoes such as Chuck Taylors. Air Jordans or Old Skool Vans are ultra-comfortable and versatile and can go with almost any outfit.

Not only do these shoes look good, but they also provide support for your feet. The high-top Air Jordans and All-Stars provide ankle and arch support while staying incredibly comfortable.

Versatility

Nowadays, people want to spend their money on shoes they can wear for multiple occasions while doing various activities. People are shying away from shoes you can only wear for one particular activity, such as high heels.

Arch Support

More and more people are concerned about their health now more than ever before; with this, foot health has also become a topic of discussion. This also applies to people who work in industries where they are on their feet a lot, such as restaurant servers, nurses, doctors, etc.

Many shoes are being designed with arch support in mind, allowing wearers to wear them for longer and ensure they protect their feet against long-term damage.

Skater Shoes

Skater shoes were all the rage in the 2000s, and while the popularity died down for a little while, they are now back and better than ever. Brands such as DC, Nike, Osiris and the like have veered away from the chunky skate shoe we once knew and have made them far more fashionable.

These shoes are also designed to withstand wear and tear, meaning you won’t need to rush out and replace them anytime soon after you buy them.

Memory Foam

Another major trend in shoes nowadays is the addition of memory foam insoles. These insoles are designed to cushion the foot while giving it the support it needs while you walk or run.

Walking and running also produce varying levels of shock that can slowly damage the foot over time. Memory foam absorbs these shocks and cushions these small blows. The foam also keeps your toes in place, protecting their small and fragile bones.

Dad Shoes

New Balance and Asics sneakers had the reputation of being “dad shoes” for a very long time. However, people are starting to see just how comfortable and stylish these shoes can be, no matter what your taste is.

They are almost all designed to provide function over form and are therefore super comfortable, simple, and can fit into almost any wardrobe and outfit.

Accent Pieces

There is no easier way to accessorise an outfit than with shoes. If you are someone who doesn’t want to wear a lot of jewellery or carry around a bag all day, then finding a pair of shoes that can do the same job is for you.

You can wear brightly coloured shoes to offset a neutral outfit; you can also find shoes that have gold or silver embellishments to get the same effect as jewellery.

Workout Shoes

Finally, workout shoes have become incredibly popular as people turn them into lifestyle shoes. There are many models from Nike, Adidas, Puma and the like that aren’t just for the gym but for wearing all day, every day.

These shoes are designed to be worn for extended periods; they are breathable, provide ankle and arch support, and are usually far more comfortable than regular sneakers.
