Actors called on to tread RSC's outside boards

Stratford Editorial 14th Dec, 2019   0

THEATRE companies, schools and colleges are once again being offered the chance to tread the RSC’s outside boards in Stratford.

The world famous company is inviting groups to put on a play by, or a new play inspired by, Shakespeare or his contemporaries at The Dell at weekends next summer.

More than 300 groups have performed on the open air performance stage near Holy Trinity Church since it launched 12 years ago.

RSC events officer Alexandra Murphy said: “There’s something very special about performing outside in the heart of Shakespeare’s hometown.

“The Dell is a fantastic platform for bringing new interpretations of Shakespeare’s work to an audience of all ages, right on the banks of the River Avon. Every year audiences fall in love with the free productions and unique atmosphere that the talented amateur and semi-professional groups and companies bring to the RSC.

Two performance slots are available on Saturdays and Sundays at The Dell throughout next July and August.

Visit www.rsc.org.uk/thedell for further details. The closing date for applications is February 24.
