Advert encourages people to 'Visit Stratford'

Stratford Editorial 2nd Oct, 2020   0

AN ADVERT encouraging people to visit Stratford has been released by local museum Tudor World.

Director Janet Ford said when researching whether there were adverts for the town she could not find any, and felt ‘duty bound’ to make one.

It is in the style of the ‘Visit California’ ads, with a brief tour around Stratford by Shakespeare himself, played by actor Will Stafford.

There are stops at the likes of the Mad Museum, The RSC and Stratford Butterfly Farm while the Bard takes the viewer on a brief tour of the town.

And Janet is hopeful residents and businesses will get behind the advert – which has been filmed and edited by Tom Badger of BrownBadger Films

Janet said: “When looking for an advert for Stratford I realised there was not one to be found. Probably because Stratford needs no advert in general.

“But I almost felt duty bound to produce an advert myself for Stratford to help boost the town during these difficult times.

“The advert is a little bit of a take on the adverts for California but without the explosions.

“We hope we have produced the right balance of showing the beauty and history of Stratford and the diversity of attractions the town has to offer.

“And now Tudor World hopes the whole town will get behind the advert, put it on their websites, send to friends, and share it on social media as far and as wide as possible.
