ONE of the UK’s biggest food festivals is returning to the district.
The Alcester Food Festival will be making its comeback in May, after Covid disrupted what would have been its tenth year running.
The festival usually falls in October, but organisers have decided to go ahead until next year to ensure maximum safety against Covid – with a second Autumn Festival also among plans.
Foodies can expect to find cheeses, pies, breads, cakes, award-winning street food, handmade chocolates and a range of local tipples.
The event – which is volunteer-run – began as a few stalls back in 2010, and has since evolved to hundreds of stalls attracting some 1,5000 guests a year.
