Alcester residents raise flag for Armed Forces Day

MORE than 100 people joined veterans at Alcester’s St Nicholas Church to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

The official Armed Forces Day flag was raised by Alcester mayor Yvette Morrison, British Legion chaplain Rev Jim Symonds and retired Major Bob Woodfield.

Addressing the crowd, British Legion chairman Mike Gittus thanked the armed forces for keeping the country safe and saluted them for their dedication.
