AN AMPHIBIOUS adventure is set to raise funds for Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations.

Stratford Town Walk, Bancroft Cruisers and town mayor, Coun Ian Fradgley have teamed up to offer a special event next Saturday March 14.

Starting at 10.30am in the Town Hall, participants will be provided with light refreshment and entertained by magician, Mel Harvey.

The group will then board the Bancroft Cruiser’s boat – The Rita Ellen – where they will be taken on a cruise along the River Avon.

Finally, they will take part in a tour of Stratford’s historic streets featuring tales of fire, flood, plague, medieval cures, a little bit of Shakespeare and one or two ghost stories from a Stratford Town Walk guide.

The event, which is scheduled to finish just after 1pm, marks the start of English Tourism Week – a week-long celebration of events, which gives residents and visitors the chance to discover everything Stratford has to offer.

Tickets cost £12 per person with all proceeds going towards the Shakespeare’s Celebrations and can be purchased by calling 07855 760377 or 01789 292478.
