ARTISTS are being given the opportunity to welcome visitors to Stratford.
Stratford District Council is inviting artists to submit proposals for the development and installation of a single artistic piece or series of pieces, to be installed in the pavement along Station Approach, next to the Arden Quarter, leading to the train station.
The artwork will need to illustrate the heritage and culture of the town, acknowledge the history of the site – the former Stratford Cattle Market – and also welcome those arriving to town by rail.
The deadline for proposals is December 7.
A shortlist of three proposals will be drawn up and the artists will then be asked to submit detailed design proposals by late February. The winning design will be chosen the following month, and the artwork is scheduled to be unveiled in September.
