Bidding restarts for housing association properties in Stratford district

Stratford Editorial 5th May, 2020 Updated: 5th May, 2020   0

WOULD-BE tenants can again bid for housing association properties in the district.

Home Choice Plus has restarted advertising housing association properties across the Stratford district.

Applicants will be able to visit the Home Choice Plus website – www.homechoiceplus.org.uk – to see what properties are available and to place bids in the usual way.

A Stratford District Council spokesperson said: “The current coronavirus lockdown has meant that it has been difficult for housing associations to carry out the necessary works to prepare properties for allocation.

“Consequently, this means we are likely to see fewer properties available to bid on. However, we hope that this situation will begin to improve once the lockdown measures have begun to ease.

“For those who are successful in their property bids, the current situation does also mean there may be delays in arranging tenancy sign-ups. In such situations, housing association landlords will keep tenants informed as to whether or not tenancy sign-ups will be able to take place.”
