Boat member swapping oars for microphone

Stratford Editorial 5th May, 2018   0

IT will be talk, talk, talk for Stratford Boat Club member Camilla Hadland this summer.

Camilla is swapping oars for a microphone after being selected as a rowing commentator in a competition launched by World Rowing.

The former Stratford School girl impressed with her clear diction, clarity, enthusiasm and rowing knowledge. She will be commentating at regattas at home and abroad during the season, including the World Rowing Cup in Serbia in June.

Camilla, who started rowing at Stratford and went on to be President of Durham University Boat Club, currently lives and works in Edinburgh.

In the boat, Camilla won a gold medal at the 2010 World Rowing Junior Championships and a further gold medal in the European Universities Rowing Championship in 2013 with her Durham University crew.

She also carried the 2012 Olympic torch into Stratford.
