A BUDDING adventurer is preparing to follow in the footsteps of her sister and represent Warwickshire at the World Scout Jamboree in the USA.
Lucy Steward, along with five fellow Wellesbourne scouts, is heading to West Virginia for the international jamboree this summer.
And environmental and engineering consultancy RSK has donated £600 to the 16-year-old whose sister Rebecca represented the county four years ago in Japan – which RSK also supported.
Lucy has been fund-raising locally and selling scouting badges, to help raise the £3,500 she needs for the trip.
The jamboree brings together scouts from some 170 countries to experience different cultures and make new friendships.
Activities from aerial sports and climbing, to learning about American culture and global issues will all be part of the jamboree.
Lucy and her fellow Wellesbourne scouts will also attend events in Washington DC and Canada.
Lucy said: “I’m really lucky and excited about being chosen to represent Warwickshire and the UK at the jamboree, as it’s a great opportunity to meet and build friendships with scouts and guides from all over the world.”
