Cash boost helps make a difference

Stratford Editorial 11th Aug, 2018   0

A CASH boost will help make a difference to those suffering from a life-changing illness.

Stratford’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society received a £1,000 donation from the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation which awards grants to small charities.

The MS Society supports people with the illness which affects the central nervous system, by providing information and emotional and financial support.

It also hosts social gatherings to allow sufferers to share experiences in a friendly atmosphere and help each other deal with the condition.

Group treasurer Paul Vaughan said: “We rely on public donations to continue, so this donation will help us no end.

“It will help us provide funding that can be used to help sufferers or those looking after someone who has the condition.

This, for example, could be by providing funding for a sufferer to have physiotherapy, or to provide respite care for someone with the condition so that their carers or family can have a holiday.”
