New charity aims to stamp out discrimination

Stratford Editorial 8th Aug, 2017   0

A NEW charity will stand up for the diverse communities of Warwickshire.

Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership (WREP) has transformed into a new charitable organisation called Equality and Inclusion Partnership (EQuIP).

EQuIP will work towards eliminating discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender, marriage, pregnancy, race, beliefs and sexual orientation through education, activities, research and extending opportunities to all individuals.

Chief executive Junaid Hussain said: “We are hugely excited by this development in equality services across the county.

“WREP has served Warwickshire since 2005 and achieved a great deal in that period.

“EQuIP will continue to run a discrimination casework service that embraces all the protected characteristics in addition to race, we will run engagement and awareness training and continue to support the diverse communities of Warwickshire working in partnership with new partners as part of a new Equality Network.”
