Charity supporting addicts merges to create Warwickshire hub

Stratford Editorial 2nd Nov, 2017   0

A CHARITY supporting those suffering from drug or alcohol addiction has merged its offices to create one South Warwickshire hub.

The Recovery Partnership, which is also known as Addaction, will now operate all of its services from a base in Court Street in Leamington. It has shut its office at the Stratford Healthcare Building on Arden Street.

Patients will instead be seen in places such as GP surgeries.

But the charity say the move is to make accessing services easier for those across the area and to free up more staff to spend time with patients.

A spokeswoman told the Observer: “We’re making changes to our service that will provide people with more choice over where they are seen.

“The same area will be served, but staff will be able to meet clients in a wider variety of outreach venues such as GP surgeries and other partner agencies rather than at Addaction specific buildings.

“People will be able to call one number as a single point of contact for the whole area and then chose which outreach venue they would like to use. We feel this will improve options for service users, and enable us to access more people who need our support.”
