Christmas light switch-on to spark festivities

Stratford Editorial 22nd Nov, 2018   0

THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas will officially begin this evening at the light switch-on in Stratford.

The event begins at 4pm outside the town hall with carols from Alveston Primary School, accompanied by Edward VI School’s The King’s Brass.

Stratford Mayor John Bicknell will be switching on the lights at 4.30pm and St Nick himself will arrive before greeting families in the grotto.

Those with grotto tickets can collect them from the town hall. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free parking will be available at Stratford District Council run car parks from 4pm until midnight and every following Thursday apart from Thursday December 6.

Car parks include Arden Street, Church Street, the recreation ground, the leisure centre, Swans Nest Lane and Windsor Street.
