Council ask for feedback on potential gypsy and traveller sites in consultation

Stratford Editorial 28th Sep, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A GYPSY and traveller local plan is being prepared by Stratford District Council.

The council is asking residents to help shape the plan by voicing their opinions on the size and location of the 56 required sites.

The local plan sets out future accommodation needs of gypsies in the area and how they could be met.

The council’s evidence shows 29 new pitches need to be created by 2019, with a further 27 pitches by 2031.

The consultation is based on 17 questions including preferred areas of new sites, making existing sites permanent and creating no occupancy restrictions on current sites.

Residents can comment online, by email, by post or in person.
