Council welcomes new chairman

STRATFORD District Council has welcomed a new chairman.

Coun Susan Adams, who represents Alcester and Rural, handed over the chain of office to Coun George Atkinson during a district council meeting on Wednesday.

During her term, Ms Adams has raised around £2,500 for her chairman’s charities, Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital £1M Appeal and Life Space which mentors young people.

Coun Atkinson, who represents the Tanworth ward, has chosen the NSPCC and St Mary Magdalene Church and the Tanworth and Malawi Linked Parish Scheme as his chairman’s charities.
