Man arrested after cyclist dies following crash with 4x4

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash between a cyclist and 4×4 near Harbury.

Emergency services including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were called to B4452 Ufton Road around 10.15am on Saturday (February 20).

The cyclist – a 33-year-old man – sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Range Rover Evoque was uninjured.




A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a cyclist who had suffered very serious injuries.

“Despite extensive efforts to save the man, unfortunately, they were in vain and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”


A 24-year-old man from Leamington has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is on bail until early April while investigations continue.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw the cyclist and vehicle prior to the incident.
