Daredevil trio take on charity challenge

Stratford Editorial 12th Sep, 2018   0

THREE generations of daredevil women took on a speedy challenge for charity.

Grandmother Rita Booth, stepdaughter Debbie Jagpal, and granddaughter Gina Wilson all took on Velocity 2 – the world’s fastest zip line in Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales.

The trio reached speeds of over 100 mph and in the process raised more than £1,000 for The Shakespeare Hospice and Lifespace Trust.

Rita said: “As president of Stratford Inner Wheel I wanted to launch my year with a ‘flying start’ to raise money for the charities we are supporting this year, the Shakespeare Hospice and the Lifespace Trust.

“Both charities are local and offer vital services for children and young people. The Hospice supports bereaved youngsters as well as young carers, and Lifespace Trust provides volunteer mentors for young people in distress.”
