Dogs who have spent nearly four years in kennels hoping to sniff out new homes

Stratford Editorial 17th Jun, 2017   0

DOGS who have collectively spent nearly four years in kennels are looking for a home.

Long-term residents Chilli, Honey, Toffee, Kiwi and Rolo have two things in common – they are all named after food and all continue to be overlooked at Dogs Trust in Kenilworth.

Staff say variety is the spice of life as all of the dogs have different personalities and requirements in a new home.

But all five have their paws crossed they will be cooking up a storm in a loving new home very soon.

Centre manager Sandra Foulds said: “These culinary canines would be the perfect ingredients in the right home and are sure to satisfy someone’s craving for a canine companion.

“The dogs are very different in their temperaments, but the one thing they all have in common is the hunger to find a loving new owner who can dish up a real treat in the form of a forever home.”

The dogs hoping to whet someone’s appetite are:

Chilli

Chilli is a 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is an older lady who enjoys having a cuddle and a potter around the garden. She is looking for a quiet home where she can put her paws up and relax. She could live with children who are used to dogs and is housetrained and could be left home alone for a few hours.

Rolo

Eight-year-old Miniature Pinscher Rolo loves food and will do anything for a treat. He is looking for patient owners in an adult only home with few visitors who have the time to work through his shyness and help him settle into his new environment. He has lived in a home before and was housetrained so with lots of time and patience, would make a loyal companion.

Honey

Two-year-old Collie cross, Honey, would suit a quiet adult-only home who will give her the time and patience she needs to settle in. She is a shy girl but with time to gain your trust and taking things at a slow pace, she will make an amazing companion.

Toffee

Nine-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Toffee, is a sweet but sensitive girl who is looking for a fairly quiet but active adult only home. She will need to be the only pet and would prefer being walked in quieter areas where she can relax. She loves to play with her toys and potter around on her walks.

Kiwi

Kiwi is a seven-year-old Huntaway Sheepdog who is a very loving affectionate boy with people he knows but can take time to build a bond so is looking for owners who can take things slowly to begin with. He is looking for an adult only home and somewhere where he can go for quiet walks.
