FAMILIES are being invited to travel back in time to the Tudor period at Mary Arden’s Farm this summer.
The fully-working farm In Wilmcote, once owned by Shakespeare’s mother, is hosting fully-immersive Tudor Experience Days in August and September, as well as a host of other drop in activities including sword fighting workshops, crafts and story telling sessions based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Rachael Boyd, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s (SBT) director of visitor experience, said: “Mary Arden’s Farm will continue its focus as a learning centre during term time and then, in the holidays will transform into an experiential outdoor family-friendly venue.
“Our Tudor family events this summer will be the first in what we hope will be a series of sensational seasonal events where families can explore the history of the area and its connections to the world’s greatest writer.”
The Tudor-inspired family fun days, part of SBT’s ‘Summer with Shakespeare’ campaign, are taking place on selected dates from August 21 to September 11.
