Festive concert to benefit Stratford Foodbank

Stratford Editorial 7th Nov, 2021   0

A CHRISTMAS concert will be held in aid of Stratford Foodbank.

The town’s Amicantus Choir has announced it will be staging the free event to help raise much-needed funds for the Foodbank which has proved a lifeline for struggling families, particularly over the pandemic.

The contemporary choir, which has experienced its own challenges over the past two years, has finally put the wheels in motion to combine their annual festive concert with the fundraising effort.

Choir manager Stuart Kocan-Payne said: “The last 18 or so months have been very challenging for everyone and we’d like to give the residents of Stratford something to look forward to whilst also acknowledging the outstanding work that the foodbank does.

“Now, more than ever, access to healthy food and provisions is key and this service has made the difference to an awful lot of people’s lives in the area.

“We’re also looking to stage a raffle during the evening so if any local businesses are able to donate something it’d be truly appreciated.”

Those able to help can contact on [email protected].

The concert will take place from 7.30pm on Saturday December 11 at St Andrew’s Church in Shottery.
