Fibromyalgia meet-up event to raise awareness

Stratford Editorial 10th May, 2019   0

THE FOUNDER of a support-network for those with a long-term condition is hoping to raise awareness of her ‘invisible illness’.

Beckey Barton set-up Stratford Fibro Friends to support those in the area who suffer from fibromyalgia which is thought to affect one in 25 people.

The illness causes tendon pain and sensitivity all over the body, as well as intense fatigue, yet there are often no physical symptoms.

And 37-year-old Beckey is hosting an event at Carl’s Kitchen on Alcester Road tomorrow (Saturday May 11) from 11am to 1pm. Sufferers and those who want to learn how to support them are invited to attend.

For more information search Stratford Fibro Friends on Facebook.
