HORSES had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming stranded in a field surrounded by flood water.
At around 10.30am on Sunday (February 7) six horses became marooned in a field in Barford while waters continued to rise due to heavy rainfall.
The RSPCA requested the assistance of the fire service to help rescue four of the animals which were led to safety.
The Large Animal Rescue Unit were then called to help with the remaining two horses. By 12.30pm all six had been rescued and moved to a safe place.
