Fiver Fest aims to boost business in Shipston

Stratford Editorial 20th Feb, 2020   0

A ‘FIVER Fest’ in Shipston aims to promote the town’s independent shops and businesses.

The campaign – organised by Totally Locally – encourages businesses to lower prices of items and services to £5 to prompt shoppers to shop independent and local.

It runs until February 29.

According to the organisation, if every adult in Shipston spent £5 per week in local businesses, instead of online, at a national chain or at big supermarkets, it would be worth £1.1million per year for the local economy.

Lou Harvey from furniture store The Richard Harvey Collection in the town said: “Fiver Fest is now a big part of our promotions for Shipston.

“The independent shops and businesses are what makes our town special and unique. We appreciate it when our community support us, so these offers are to say thank you for that support, and to show just what great value our local businesses are.”
