Fledgling photographers chosen to capture RSC rehearsals

FLEDGLING photographers have been chosen to capture rehearsals for the RSC during its spring season.

The four winners of the RSC Key Photography Competition were among some 300 entrants who submitted pictures from their Instagram accounts.

The winners were Sophie Teasdalem, age 23 and from South Shields, who will photograph rehearsals for Macbeth; Ellie Merridale, age 21 from Milton Keynes, who will take pictures for Romeo and Juliet; Sophie Giddens, age 24 from Manchester, who will cover Hamlet; and Helen Dickman, age 22 from Cambridge, who will shoot The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Each photographer will receive pay and be mentored by theatre photographers including Richard Davenport, Manuel Harlan, Helen Maybanks and Topher McGrillis.
