Flippin' great fun as pancake races return to streets of Alcester

Stratford Editorial 3rd Mar, 2022   0

THERE was flippin’ great fun as the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Day races returned to Alcester after a two year break it.

Once again it attracted a huge crowd of people who lined the streets to cheer on the runners as they charged along flipping their pancakes.

Organised by Alcester Court Leet, great fun was had by all with the Alcester Inn winning the pub relay, with the Moat House and Royal Oak in second and third.

The works relay saw Cherry trees/ Barchester care homes taking home the spoils, with sponsors the stall hire company coming in second and Minerva Mill a spirited third.

Then it was turned over to the children from parents and toddlers, nurseries and all the local schools taking part in some excellent races all held in good spirit.

The ladies race was won for a second time by the speedy Harriet Styler.
