Free entry to Bard's school for Blue Peter badge winners

BLUE Peter badge holders will be in for a treat as they can now visit Shakespeare’s former school for free.

More than half a million badges have been awarded since the scheme began 53 years ago with Her Majesty the Queen and David Beckham being among the more well-known recipients.

And after Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall signed up to the Blue Peter Badge Attractions scheme, badge holders can now gain free entry when they visit with a paying adult.

Sarah Jervis-Hill of Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall, said: “We are delighted to be a part of the Blue Peter family and look forward to welcoming young visitors to the space where William Shakespeare spent time as a young boy.

“It is an enlightening experience for children and the whole family – one that really helps to bring to life the story of the world’s greatest playwright, whose work and legacy they will experience as part of their own time at school.”
