GOLFERS hit the fairways to raise £25,000 for The Shakespeare Hospice.
The Samuel Ryder Golf Day took place at Stratford Golf Club and featured professional and amateur players.
A total 22 teams took part on the day – the main sponsor of which was Stratford-based IT and telecoms firm BDR, which had two teams on the course, one of which partnered with PGA professional Simon Lilley were overall winners.
The day ended with a dinner, prizes, a raffle and an auction, featuring passes to the Ryder Cup in Paris, dinner at Marco Pierre White’s restaurant and stays at Bovey Castle and Gleneagles in Scotland.
Hospice fund-raising manager Caroline Lawrence said: “The players have all given us very positive feedback from today and The Shakespeare Hospice wants to say a big thank you to our generous sponsors and all those that took part.”
