Stratford District Council has received a response from the government to its legal challenge over the district’s Tier 3 restrictions.
However, district leaders remain tight-lipped as they ‘consider their position’ with legal advisors.
District council leader Tony Jefferson sent a judicial review pre-action protocol letter to health and social care secretary Matt Hancock last week over the unexpected tier allocation, with a response deadline for Thursday.
But the Government’s Legal Department delayed its answer twice before responding earlier today.
Yesterday, a council spokesperson said a further statement could be expected in the couple of days following the reply.
