GRANTS are now available to hospitality and leisure businesses in the district hit by the Omicron variant.
The latest round of Government grants announced in December are now available to apply for through Stratford District Council (SDC).
These new grants, are one-off payments of up to £6,000 aimed at supporting rated eligible businesses in the hospitality and leisure sector affected by the Omicron variant.
Those eligible for grants include, but are not limited to pubs, restaurants and cafes, cinemas, theatres, tourist attractions and night clubs, together with hotels, b&bs and holiday homes.
As this is a new scheme with new eligibility criteria, the council is encouraging businesses falling within the hospitality, leisure and accommodation categories to check the terms and conditions and submit an application as soon as possible.
SDC health and wellbeing spokeswoman Coun Jo Barker said: “We know times are still very hard for businesses.
“This new scheme continues to support businesses across the district. The district council has already paid over £72million in grants and reliefs throughout the pandemic and this grant is for those businesses directly impacted by the Omicron variant. And although restrictions are gradually lifting, I’m sure this will be a welcome boost for businesses.
“We must stress to businesses that the clock is ticking to get applications in as soon as possible. Businesses need to ensure they are eligible for a grant and provide all required evidence as part of their application.”
Applications close on February 13.
