Hairdresser takes on trio of challenges for children

A HARDY hairdresser from Ettington is aiming to raise a stylish £7,500 for her church.

Cara Reynolds is preparing to take on a trio of challenges – the Brighton Marathon on April 15, the Blenheim Triathlon Sprint Distance on June 3 and the Windsor Olympic Distance Triathlon on June 17.

She will be raising money for Shipston-based Stour Valley Baptist Church.

It has appointed a part time children’s worker to run a weekly toddler group, open to mums, carers and their children. Up to 30 families attend the group each week and view it as a vital part of their support and friendship.

The post also enables the church to support two after school clubs as well as partnering with other local churches to provide a holiday club week in the summer holidays.

Cara said: “This will be my first marathon in Brighton and my first ever Olympic distance triathlon.

“I would dearly love to dedicate these challenges to Stour Valley Baptist Church. My children and I have benefited hugely from the children’s work over the years and we would love to bless others with these experiences too.”
