A COMMITMENT to excellence has seen Heart of England Mencap receive a prestigious award.
Investors in People award has presented the charity with its coveted ‘We invest in people’ Silver Accreditation. The silver award is something only 20 per cent of the organisations assessed achieve.
It means the right principles are in place and that people and leaders are making active efforts to make sure there is consistency and everyone in the organisation is feeling the effects.
Heart of England Mencap supports around 200 people with a learning disability with a range of services in south Warwickshire and north Worcestershire, from day opportunities to residential care.
The charity’s mission is to empower people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.
Heart of England Mencap has around 200 employees.
Chief executive Helena Wallis said: “We’re immensely proud to receive silver accreditation, especially on the back of what has been the most challenging period our charity has faced. It is testament to our commitment to building the very best team – ensuring our staff are supported and valued and understand our wider charity values as we strive to be an outstanding care provider.
“The people we support are always at the heart of what we do – but none of it would be possible without our truly amazing team, who have proven during the Covid-19 pandemic to be nothing short of exceptional.
“We are committed to supporting them to be, do and feel their best, because that’s where excellence begins.”
