STRANDED drivers had to be rescued by firefighters at the weekend.

Storm Imogen has been battering the UK in recent days – bringing high winds and heavy rain to parts of southern England.

On Saturday evening (February 6) fire crews were called to several cars stuck in flood water in Great Alne, Aston Cantlow and Wootton Wawen.

Road closure warning signs have since been put in place by highways chiefs.

And the following day (Sunday), the River Avon broke its banks onto the Recreation Ground.
