THE SPIRIT of giving is rife in Henley.
Residents have been busy buying Christmas presents early – not for themselves but for some of the poorest children around the world.
In support of the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, Amy Bailitis organised volunteers to fill 100 boxes with gifts, along with educational and hygiene items.
The congregation at St John’s Church raised £500 to cover all shipping costs.
Rev John Ganjavi said: “Once more I am impressed by the generosity of so many in supporting this charity, and well done to Amy in getting so many people involved.”
