A HOSTEL in Stratford is part of the inspiration for a new play it is hosting.

Mikron present Best Foot Forward at YHA Stratford in Alveston on Friday June 23, starting at 7.30pm.

The play, written by Maeve Larkin, is described as ‘A hike through the history of hostelling’.

It tells the story of fictional YHA warden Connie who takes us on a journey through the organisation’s history, as she fights external forces to stop the building from becoming a golf club.

Mikron – which was founded in 1972 – performs a variety of venues such as allotments community centres, festivals, lifeboat

The show will take place in the grounds of the hostel and guests are advised to bring chairs and blankets.

No tickets are required but charitable donations are welcome. Food will be available.
