A CASH boost will help homeless and struggling people in Stratford

Stratford District Council has received £130,000 from the government to improve support provided to rough sleepers or those at risk of homelessness.

The cash will support the extension of a housing scheme for rough sleepers, trauma counselling and the recruitment of a rough sleeper coordinator.

District council spokeswoman Jo Barker said: “We’re really pleased to have secured this funding from [the government] to help people rebuild their lives.

“The district council is already running a number of initiatives to reduce rough sleeping and homelessness, but additional resources will help us to achieve the government’s delivery plan as we remain committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping in the district.”
